How to Be the Best Version of Yourself

No one is perfect. I’ve never claimed to be better than anyone else, or even perfect for that matter. I do however, struggle with perfectionism. But then again, like I said, I’m not perfect. But one thing is for sure, I don’t like to hurt other people with what I say or do. As I’ve always said, and now that I see, as some people that are close to me would also say, I strive to be the best version of myself that I can be.

It’s important to remember that we’re not in competition with others, and that we should only compete with ourselves when it comes to achieving more in life. It’s great if you want to compare your work to others in a way in which you can learn new things and techniques. But when it comes to comparing how great someone is or defining one to be the best, and better than all others, I don’t think it’s really fair. It’s unfair to others, and it’s more than anything, unfair to yourself. It’s hard enough to go through life being a perfectionist, let alone feeling the desire to compete with the world around you.

There will always be the types of people that will try to drag you down in life. Those are the ones that you should stay clear of and try to avoid. Why bother being around people that don’t have your best interest at heart, or those that frankly, don’t want to see you succeed. Simple… you shouldn’t. Who you choose to surround yourself with in life can either make you go further or take you off track towards being—the best version of yourself.

As a writer, I learn new things all of the time. I suppose I could say the same about just being a human being and an individual that’s growing and learning new things. I learn new things every day, just like everyone else. Although sometimes, I meet certain people, and many times, simply read comments left from others in regards to my work, and which aren’t the nicest, most uplifting, or inspiring.

Many people try to bring you down in life and as you strive towards your goals. It’s never good to degrade or belittle others, or even bully people for that matter. Putting others down in order to make yourself feel big and special is never good. Many times, people want nothing more than to feel stronger and more superior than you. But in reality, many of those people are actually quite insecure, lonely, and jealous human beings.

It’s imperative not to let others bring you down, and that’s why social media at times can be so draining and deflating to your soul. Remember to surround yourself with beautiful, enlightened, warm-hearted, and loving people. Don’t waste your time listening to anger, hatred, envy, or any type of and jealousy that others might display. If other people want to waste their time comparing themselves to you, what you do, or even how you go about living your life, brush them aside, ignore them, and keep striving towards your goals, and towards who you want to be. Just remember your goal and what you need to remain focused on, and that’s being the best version of yourself that you can be.
